The Indonesian assets of MPTC will be included in its potential merger with SMC.

The Indonesian assets of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. will be included in its potential merger with San Miguel Corp. set to be signed within the second half of the year, the company’s chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said Tuesday.In an interview on the sidelines of a Memorandum of Understanding signing in Makati City, Pangilinan said the MPTC and SMC, led by Ramon Ang, have decided to include the Indonesian assets —reported to be at $1 billion— in the merger talks.

The tollway firm is the operator of the North Luzon Expressway , the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway , the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway , the Cavite-Laguna Expressway , and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway , and the NLEX Connector.SMC Tollways, meanwhile, operates the South Luzon Expressway, the Skyway Stage 3, the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road , the NAIA Expressway, and the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway .In the same interview, Pangilinan said SP New Energy Corp.
