On Tuesday, the Tasman Peninsula Marine Protection community group took to parliament lawns to demonstrate concern over the impacts of fish farm debris on Tasmania's coastal environment, displaying a pile of debris collected recently from the coastline, close to salmon farms.
"We should not be subjected, the public, to pick up the trash that's coming from the fish farms," she said. He said the salmon industry had not seen the debris collected by the TPMP, had not been provided with evidence the debris originated from salmon farms, and the group had not sought to speak with the association about it.
"But what we find in our regular clean-ups is [that] the vast majority is in fact domestic rubbish, which is in our waterways as well."
The sector needs help.
Surely their regular clean up events (of non fish farm rubbish) and marine rescues are testament to their efforts or would you just prefer some major employers of Tasmanian's go belly up & leave the state so it can be pristine and uninhabited?

Recycling industry demands Federal action as mountains of rubbish builds upThere are plenty of examples of successful recycling operations in Australia.
