Heavy rain could lead to flooding.Beryl could bring tropical storm winds and gusts to Fayette County points south and east. Wind damage and power outage risk.Corpus Christi got its' first round of storms as a result of Beryl at about 4 p.m. Sunday.

On Sunset Island off the Gulf Coast and south of central Corpus Christi is Snoopy's Pier-- a long-time favorite for locals.But on the horizon of Snoopy's dock, an ominous sight.Terrance Cooper, also a Corpus native, was having a drink at Snoopy's called the 'the Hurricane.' It was half-off in honor of Beryl."Board up and have a beer!" said Cooper.Ryan Dunn is the General Manager of Pearl Oyster Bar, right next door to Snoopy's.

"It's a little scary when you see a hurricane coming towards you, but luckily it's not gonna hit us head on but we still have to worry about storm surge," said Dunn.But, he's praying for a slow hurricane season. "This is just the beginning of the hurricane season, the very beginning so it puts us at a little bit of fear-- you always have to be worried about it and what's gonna happen," added Dunn.
