Children in Manchester will become market traders for the day as they sell off their own school-grown produce.
The young entrepreneurs will be taking part in the Young Marketeers event run by the School Food Matters charity, which gives children a chance to learn from expert gardeners on how to grow food from seed. All money raised from the market, which will run from 12pm to 2pm, will go towards FareShare Manchester. The organisation redistributes surplus food to vulnerable people across the city-region.
