Qualcomm has filed a lawsuit against Infinix and Tecno parent company Transsion Holdings, Financial Times reports. The lawsuit, filed in India, accuses

Transsion of violating Qualcomm's intellectual property rights.

As highlighted by the Financial Times, Qualcomm asserts that Transsion has failed to secure necessary licences for the majority of its mobile products. Besides India, it is said that the chipmaker has also filed similar lawsuits against the Infinix and Tecno parent company in Europe and China, accusing it of similar patent infringements.

In response, a spokesperson said Transsion respects other companies' intellectual property rights and is willing to negotiate licensing agreements. They mentioned that the company has already signed a 5G patent licence agreement with Qualcomm and is working to meet its terms, suggesting that some disputes might be resolved through negotiation. This is not Transsion’s first encounter with intellectual property lawsuits.
