Sports, Arts and Culture Minister, Gayton McKenzie has hailed the selfless nature of former Bafana Bafana coach Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala. The 75-year-old served football in different capacities for almost 50 years.
He is a founder member of Kaizer Chiefs during his playing days. After his premature retirement from football due to a knee injury, Tshabalala became a successful coach at various clubs. His most successful stint was at Mamelodi Sundowns before he was appointed the first-ever Bafana Bafana coach after South Africa’s readmission to international football.
“If I go to a cricket game, I will see legends of cricket. They are sitting in their place. If I go overseas and I go and watch the game of AC Milan, I will see leaders of yesteryear of AC Milan sitting there. Our legends are sitting at home and now they are being denied watching their favourite teams. The legends, I am going to meet with them very soon they will take their rightful place.
