Extortion News

South Africa South Africa Latest News,South Africa South Africa Headlines

The MK Party says it is not surprising that Cape Town has more than 60% of extortion incidents.

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has attributed the escalation of extortion in the country partly to the economic exclusion of the majority of Africans and Coloured people.MK Party MP David Skosana participated in a debate in which Police Minister Senzo Mchunu outlined government’s plan of action to deal with extortion.

“The City of Cape Town under the DA leadership has 64% case of extortion. Quite interesting, they say where they govern, they govern more than any other province. It’s a phenomenon, it’s not unexpected given the history of economic exclusion where Africans and Coloureds have been systematically marginalised from participating in the economy of this country,” adds Skosana.
