Fifty-nine-year-old Nomazwi Ndleleni, who was among the 18 people, who were massacred at Ngobozana

Fifty nine-year-old Nomazwi Ndleleni, who was among the 18 people, who were massacred at Ngobozana village in Lusikisiki, in the Eastern Cape, has been laid to rest.Mlungisi Nziba, a family member, spoke about the deceased as the family’s main provider, who worked hard to improve their challenging living conditions. She earned a living through a steel recycling business.

“With her passing, there will be a significant change, as she fulfilled the roles of both mother and father. Everyone relied on her, and her absence has left a substantial gap. After the funeral, I hope the government can provide food parcels for the children, who depended on their mother for everything,” says Nziba.

“Our mother raised us to become the men we are today. We can’t say much about her, but we are truly grateful for everything she did for us, including putting us through school. When the pain is still raw, it’s natural to feel anger and wonder why someone would harm her, but ultimately, we must accept the reality of the situation.”
