PETALING JAYA: A wanted suspect and four others were arrested by Bukit Aman over links to a gold investment scam, says the Commercial Crime Investigation Department .
CCID director Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said that one of the main suspects, Siti Hajartul Haini Abd Hamid, was arrested on Tuesday after landing at Penang International Airport."Also arrested were four individuals who we believe have links to the scam. The three men and one woman, aged between 29 and 38 years old, were arrested in Kedah and Kuala Lumpur on Oct 21 and 22.
"The suspects have been remanded until Oct 25 to assist in investigations. As of now, 69 reports have been made against these scams, involving RM48.5mil in losses. "Investigations showed that the scammers offered five investment packages with different returns based on current gold prices.
