Roy Rickhuss of the CommunityUnion slammed the move by Tata , saying it showed 'complete and utter contempt for the workforce' and is a result of 'management failure'.

Tata steel will be cutting up to 1,000 UK jobs as part of a new business "transformation", it has announced tonight, in a fresh blow for the embattled UK steel industry.
