Mmusi Maimane left the DA in October saying the party does not serve the interest of all South Africans.says they will be holding public dialogues with ordinary South Africans in the next three months to hear their views on what future they want. Although Maimane also says he has no plans to start a new political party, the former democrat has made it clear that he intends remaining in politics, working to spark a citizen-led movement to hold political parties accountable to the electorate.
Speaking to SABC News Maimane says they want a movement that will usher a new change in the county’s political landscape. “There are 48 political parties in this country so I think 49 less than ideal. What we need is a system that will allow accountability to work better,” says Maimane. Maimane left the DA in October saying the party does not serve the interest of all South Africans. Other leaders that left the DA during the same period included Herman Mashaba and Athol Trollip.

Stop dithering around & form a new political party - as the former leader of the opposition you must know what South Africans want in a political party - public dialogues, like the present commission's, are meaningless & of little value to your vision

Once they start moving in circles just know they will not go anywhere.. the guy was indecisive as a member of the DA I dont see what could have changed all od a sudden.. he cant even come out and say he is starting a party
I recall Mamphele Ramphele having these dialogues and they did not take us anywhere
So all these years being the leader of the main opposition party he was just opposing without knowing what South Africans want?🤷🏾♂️

General Holomisa did the same in what was called National Consultative Forum but he did not succeed, our people knows their position they will never be fooled by the so called dialogue
