The bodies of the mine workers were recovered on Saturday night, after prolonged efforts by the rescue teams to reach them.management has released the names of the four deceased miners following a rock fall on Friday.
They are Rock Drillers – Xolani Meva from Elliotdale, Lungile Nyawose from Lusikisiki, Karabo Mabuthile from Fochville and a team leader Katleho Nthibane from Bloemfontein. Their bodies were recovered on Saturday night, after prolonged efforts by the rescue teams to reach them.The fifth mine worker, who was rescued on Friday, is in a stable condition in hospital.
The National Union of Mine Workers says an independent forensic investigation should be conducted at the Tau Lekoa Gold Mine.
