We live in a society where low weight is accepted, not talked about, not treated. As I know well from personal experience, people only get treatment for eating disorders when they are nearly dead.
Thanks for highlighting this. Working as a school nurse, I encountered a number of young adults whose lives have been blighted by EDs. Sadly, the author is right, inadequate services and often too late in the day to prevent the issue becoming entrenched and difficult to treat.
A sad fact but I am happy that this hideous illness is gaining public awareness and attention. It's something we need to face, talk about and work with in helping those affected by it's destructive nature.
It won’t be. People voted to destroy the NHS.
