“The Australian music community will band together once again under the unified banner of Sound Relief 2020”

The official accounts for Live Nation Austalasia, Michael Gudinski’s Frontier Touring and Michael Chugg’s Chugg Entertainment are among those who circulated the message.

The original, twin Sound Relief concerts were staged at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Sydney Cricket Ground in February 2009, with Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Olivia Newton-John, Barry Gibb, Midnight Oil andAustralia’s current summer is a cruel one. The national death toll has hit 25, authorities say, as fires around the country have scorched more than 12 million acres of land.

Several shows have already been canceled due to the hazardous conditions. Earlier this week, live entertainment giant TEG announced the Fire Fight Australia fundraising concert, through its TEG Dainty and TEG Live companies. The lineup has yet to be announced for Fire Fight Australia, which will take place Feb. 16 at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium.
