Chinese electronics group TCL will stop producing BlackBerry-branded smartphones this year, the companies said on Monday, leaving it unclear whether that will be the end of the line for the once-dominant handsets.

“The future is bright for both TCL Communication and BlackBerry Limited, and we hope you will continue to support both as we move ahead on our respective paths,” the post read. TCL unveiled Key2 in mid-2018, combining a physical keyboard with a 4.5-inch screen and powering it with the Google-backed Android operating system.

Nothing dey dis life ooo

Still remember those years, how many Naija folks sold their brains, kidneys, coochies, sanity and all indices of moral decency just to own a Blackberry phone and 'belong' to 'the' clique. Who would have foreseen that this same BB would later become useless? Such is life.

Thought it ended in 2015

Rip BB

Are they still producing?

You mean to tell me they kept producing when no one else was buying? 😳
