Food giant Nestle said on Wednesday it would spend 100 million swiss francs ($103.58 million) on expanding its manufacturing footprint in China to include a new plant-based food facility and widen its production lines.

The company said its first plant-based food facility for Asia would be built in Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area and that it could launch faux meat products by the end of this year. China’s “free from meat” market, which includes alternative meat products, grew 33.5% since 2014 to be worth just under $10 billion in 2018, according to Euromonitor. It predicts that the industry will be worth $11.9 billion by 2023.

China needs to watch its fresh water supply with Nestle around.

Nestle surely knows how human rights are treated in China and the environment there. I just want to say it is not very vegan and I am totally not going to buy or recommend their made in China products. China

Get lost Nestle india...I juss gonna bycot you..😠

Well known for their ethical food practices 🙄

China is the new global super power and it's all down to the 80s were every rich capitalist bought cheap labour and land and now the table has changed

I take it that’s for export only, as the Chinese only have a taste for anything that walks , crawls, swims or flies.

Makes sense to go to China. Both Nestle and the Chinese government are corrupt and imoral.

THANKS NESTLE for letting us know exactly how to feel ABOUT US. We know what TO DO!

Nestle should be nationalized and the executives jailed for promoting slavery.

their vegan stuff is chemical slop wouldnt feed it to the stray dogs who live in the allyway with me.

I’m old enough to remember when they shut down the local plant in my old neighborhood. There were thousands without jobs. Good to see them helping the economy by... going overseas for cheaper labor... 😒

So we boycott nestle for being cheap assholes

Boycott Nestle!
