WASHINGTON - U.S. lawmakers will consider two bills next week on goods made with forced labor from China’s Xinjiang region, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Friday, with one that would restrict imports and another that would require disclosures from publicly-traded U.S. companies on their supply chains.

“If we refused to speak out about human rights in China because of commercial interests, then we lose all moral authority to speak about human rights any place in the world,” Pelosi said.

Only a Democrat speaker can hold forth on universal human rights without sparing any nation, however powerful like China-time for priorities to shift from GDP to gross national happiness, the kind that Bhutan practise successfully

What forced labor? Ridiculous accusations without proof from a country who actually uses their millions of prisoners as forced labor...

It is utterly mindboggling how americans believed that there are no laws in China. They need to get out of their caves to see that China has much stricter laws than many other countries.

so what! Gonna bill the Chinese to death, get the hell outta here!!, LOL. Btw yea go ahead let our Prisoner's do the work an your have more riots in there than you do out in the cities. There's more of them inside than law enforcement.

☠️

Once again: Forced Labor..... is slavery, just call it that.

Wow

Seems to me that Biden and Pelosi are talking themselves out of a job

How about something for the AMERICAN PEOPLE?

Do African Americans living in impoverish communities think that democratic leaders honestly feel that their lives matter, are for equal justice, and deserve their votes when they are homeless, unemployed before this virus, have low paying jobs, pay high rent? So sad.

she's worried about chinese labor but not ours. pretty much sums up the state of government in the united states in 2020. we citizens have zero representation.

Since no freedom of union in PRC, all goods are made by forced labor there.

grow up! More ppl are dying in US.

MAGA hats?

Not enough orange

china should consider to stop export mask, protecter suit and etc to white extreme country to support the black and Latina

Aren't those preposterous MAGA hats made in China?😆

Except for the occasional Monday morning, my labor was never 'forced'. But I do have to say it was pretty reliably coerced by this concept of 'salary' :)

PELOSI FUNDED THE HONG KONG PROTESTERS!

Made in America! Just vote realDonaldTrump Problem solved! This is how you do it SpeakerPelosi

Oh yeah SpeakerPelosi? You've still semi-slavery prevailing in your own backyard. Your Apple gets its products made from the sweatshops of China. How about minding your own business?

Should ban all goods made in China

Hasn’t POTUS been pushing this for four years? Now the dems want to join in right at election time?

China is always a cheat!

Think there is An executive order already in effect on this issue.

House should consider the shit made and done by US prisoners, how about that

And this has been going on for how many decades, and all of a sudden it’s an issue

Like MAGA hats?
