In making the move, NBCU is making the first two seasons of “The Office” available for free on Peacock.
Seasons 3-9, as well as “The Office: Superfan Episodes,” will be available on Peacock Premium, which is available for $4.99/month with ads, and Peacock Premium Plus $9.99/month without ads. NBCU clawed back the popular sitcom featuring the Dunder Mifflin gang from Netflix, where “The Office” has been among its top-viewed content.
Based on the British series of the same name, “The Office” offered a mockumentary style look at life inside the fictional paper company Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pa. The series debuted in 2005 and went on to become a critical favorite, picking up 42 Emmy nominations and 5 wins among many other awards over its run. It also helped launch the careers of people like Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, and Mike Schur.
