Hundreds of owners rushed to sell their properties at auction this week, the quietest time of the year to sell a home, to take advantage of the remaining buyer demand and get ahead of their competition.
“We’ve decided to sell early because the property market is booming at the moment and there’s been some record house sales in the Cannon Hill area and in the Minnippi Estate where we live,” Ms Fainga’a said.“I just think it’s worth selling up now because I believe we’re coming to the tail-end of really strong housing sales. If we waited another six months, we may not get such good results that we’re seeing now.
“Normally, housing market activity doesn’t start ramping up until the end of January or early February, but the auction market this year is starting earlier and stronger,” CoreLogic research director Tim Lawless said. “Last year started off really strongly, and this year, even stronger, as vendors became more bullish,” he said.“I’m expecting more vendors to come into the market because demand from local and interstate buyers is really strong, although I don’t think they will get the same astronomical prices we saw last year as people simply can’t match it.”
Housing will soon follow Stock market crash.
