Germany has itself reduced the import of Russian oil down to 12 % and supports an embargo, although problems are expected in East Germany. Gas is now down to 35%, and will be reduced even more. It has not 'warned' the EU. That's not how it works

Duh.

Note: its 'EU to expect economic cost', not US. US is benefitting economically, and is still importing crude oil from Russia. EU is stupid.

I tweeted on the 1st day I would be ready for some economic strain. You can't eat your cake and have it.

EU is burning itself to keep its master i.e. US warm. New hight of servitude.

Time for EU to act as in war time! 💂 Ashamed of most EU politicians. Cowards! Specially after all atrocities 🤮 Remember 1939! Stop pretending it's because Putin has rotten nukes. Until when/what? ☠️ EraseKremlin ☄️👹 Fight4Democracy 💨🇷🇺

An old British saying. 'Never keep your eggs in one basket'.

Two things people always end up pay for in life, stupidity and vanity. This fits both.

Russia is the second largest crude oil producer in the world, behind the U.S. and ahead of Saudi Arabia. Not to mention gas. Embargo is beyond impossible for Europe.

Embargo na gaz potrzebna bardziej.

Phased? Who says they will get any? This is spastic! You say 'phase out' and you expect Russians to deliver? EU countries will be able to fill their gas storage facilities for the winter season only if the industry is stopped for several months. So say the journalists of Der Spiegel. In total, Europe will have to save an amount of gas comparable to a third of Germany's 🇷🇺🇨🇳The export of Russian gas to China through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline has increased by almost 60% in January-April compared to the same period last year, Gazprom says.
