Loblaw says as single-use plastic shopping bags are phased out systematically, province by province, customers will be have a variety of reusable alternatives.Loblaw says the adoption of a plastic bag fee has led to a 70 per cent decline in the use of plastic bags in its stores.

The savings of not having to provide bags goes straight to their bottom line. Now we have to be the cashier and bag our own groceries with bags we provide. This is a huge savings for them, anyone notice a reduction in the price of groceries? Me neither.

What is wrong with a shorter time. Most supermarkets in Europe have eliminated then, as I looked very stupid at checkout in Amsterdam without a carry bag.
That is funny because Trudeau just stated it will be prohibited to use plastic by that date. So they are just following protocol by the Federal government...
