Elite hackers can make more than $500,000 a year searching for security flaws and reporting those issues at big companies like Tesla and organizations like the Department of Defense, according to new data released by ethical hacking platform Bugcrowd.

A few very smart hackers can make that much. The other 99.99% wouldn't make anything at all. It's bad to give people the idea that hacking is a profitable thing to do cause when they don't make money with ethical hacking, they may try it the other way.
