However, BYD has also said it’s hoping to sell two million EVs in 2023, and while the target is ambitious, it wouldn’t be out of the question for the company to surpass Tesla.To be sure, these estimates will be fully dependent on the industry-wide race to produce EVs, which Tesla has a solid lead on.

In 24 months the 'auto' industry will look very different. Tesla, BYD, Hyundai/KIA and one or 2 others will be leading and piling up cash... and all the others will be floundering or consolidated with others or like so many now... simply brands and labels to be passed around.
