Zoran Bebic, managing director of engineering company Monadelphous, says his best advice is to be prepared to do anything, as he answers our CEO Q&A.

This isn’t career advice that someone gave to me. This is career advice that I’ve landed on myself, from the experience I’ve had here at Monadelphous.

I very much worked on the principle that if someone’s asked you to perform a role or a task, do it to the best of your ability. If you do, you’ll deliver a good outcome for the organisation, you’ll develop skills and you’ll learn a lot from the experience. And that’ll set you up for the next opportunity, particularly in an organisation that’s focused on internally developing and growing the talent pool.

I think the other thing in terms of leadership that’s really important is that we make few decisions at an executive or board level without understanding what it means for our people in the field.
