Among FTSE 100 constituents, precious metals company Fresnillo PLC FRES, +5.49% saw the largest increase Tuesday, as shares rallied 5.49%.

Antofagasta PLC ANTO, +2.09%, a non-ferrous metals company, and diversified reits business Land Securities Group PLC LAND, +2.07% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks rose 2.09% and 2.07%, respectively. Shares of food retail firm Ocado Group PLC OCDO, -1.93% and building materials/products company Melrose Industries PLC MRO, -1.43% fell 1.93% and 1.43%, respectively.

The pound was down 0.19% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.13% at $1.2732 and was up 0.26% against the euro GBPEUR, +0.28% at €1.1738.
