U.K. stocks climbed Thursday, as the FTSE 100 Index closed up 0.18% at 7,333.63. Of the FTSE 100 constituents, clothing retail company JD Sports Fashion PLC...

Of the FTSE 100 constituents, clothing retail company JD Sports Fashion PLC JD, +5.07% saw the largest increase Thursday, as shares rose 5.07%.

Fresnillo PLC FRES, +1.52%, a precious metals company, and precision products business Halma PLC HLMA, +1.42% rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks increased 1.52% and 1.42%, respectively. Shares of hotels firm Whitbread PLC WTB, -1.66% and building materials/products company CRH PLC CRH, -1.51% fell 1.66% and 1.51%, respectively.

The pound was down 0.73% against dollar GBPUSD, -0.73% at $1.2631 and 0.37% against the euro GBPEUR, -0.37% at €1.1670.
