Voith Turbo North America recently broke ground on a $5 million expansion of its workshop located in Manchester Township, York County.

Voith Turbo also plans to convert 17,000 square feet of existing warehouse space into a manufacturing workshop. A portion of warehouse storage will be moved to an offsite location. The company said that the expansion and warehouse conversion will result in new workshop space for increased manufacturing and service work.

When the project is completed, the company be hiring additional workshop technicians; Computer Numerical Control machinists; project managers; engineers; field service technicians; and support and quality control positions. The Voith Group was founded in 1867 and has around 21,000 employees, sales of $5.2 billion and locations in more than 60 countries worldwide. In addition to Voith Turbo, Voith Hydro has a 215,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that is also located in Manchester Township.
