Katy Morgan-Davies anxiously looked behind her before tiptoeing up to the window and sheepishly pulling back the curtain. The sunshine trickled through the window and instantly hit her face as she peeked out onto the street below. As her cheeks began to blush from the warmth of the sun, the 30-year-old quickly drew back, wide-eyed and frightened. Her eyes darted around the room.
One particular day, the 6pm news aired as they were gathered around the television and a charity helpline number happened to flash up on the screen. Katy memorised the digits she saw on TV. When AB was next out of the house, she secretly phoned the number and finally a rescue mission was put in place by members of a slave victim organisation called the Palm Cove Society. The following week, when AB left to go shopping, Katy and another woman, Josephine Herivel, escaped the house.
