Republicans in the House of Representatives are expected to vote Tuesday to choose their speaker-designee in hopes of ending a nearly three-week period without a speaker.
"The eight candidates that remain, I will tell you they're all very highly qualified," he said."They all did a really great job tonight in the forum. And I am certain, quite frankly, that one of them will be elected tomorrow as the next speaker of the House."The protracted battle over House speakership doesn't have precedent in U.S. history.
"It was the big spending measures that Kevin McCarthy garnered more votes from Democrats than he did from Republicans that put him in this position and forced us to remove him as speaker congressman," Rosendale said.
