A popular modern Asian restaurant that has been in Melbourne’s CBD for 18 years has announced it is closing its doors. Gingerboy, on Crossley St, announced the “difficult decision” on its Instagram page, saying the business has been placed into liquidation as of Tuesday. The management of the restaurant cited market pressures following COVID lockdowns as the reason for the closure.
“To our dedicated staff, we want to thank you for your hard work, dedication, and passion for the restaurant industry.” Gingerboy said any bookings made after Tuesday will not be honoured and customers will need to make alternative dining arrangements. “As we begin the process of the liquidation, we ask for your understanding and patience during this transitional period,” management said.
