Slain aid worker Zomi Frankcom’s best friend, Rebeka Doetsch, has revealed details of her final conversation with the Aussie, who was killed in an air strike in Gaza. Doetsch broke down in tears on Thursday as she told Sunrise host Matt Shirvington she had spoken to Frankcom just days ago and had expected to see her friend back in Bangkok this Sunday.

Frankcom, 43, was one of seven foreign aid workers killed in an Israeli air strike while delivering food with not-for-profit World Central Kitchen on Monday night. “We were just joking … she was so excited about her first Thai New Year in a few weeks,” Doetsch said of their phone conversation.
