A man has been arrested over a hit-and-run in the Northern Territory that left two people fighting for life and a third in a serious condition. Police say he was doing a U-turn when he allegedly ran over two men and a woman asleep on the road in a cul-de-sac near a coastal reserve, before he allegedly reversed back over them. The 21-year-old male driver of the white van then allegedly drove away from the scene on Trower Rd at Brinkin about 1.50am Friday.
“Police will allege the driver reversed back over the injured persons, before immediately driving away from the scene without stopping to render any assistance,” NT Police said. The three injured people remain in hospital receiving treatment, NT Police said on Friday. The 21-year-old handed himself into police that afternoon, after the vehicle involved was identified and police had issued an appeal to the public for information.
