Dinners in Maui. Tickets to games. A free screening of “Black Panther.” A $250,000 donation to a group that funds the governor’s travel. That’s just part of the $11.8 million that soft drink companies and their lobbyists spent in the last two years.

AHABayArea Just another example of the business practices soda companies like CocaColaCo PepsiCo & drpepper learned from their corporate older brothers, Big Tobacco. Overconsumption is costing California’s kids and low income communities’ health and wealth. The caleg must do more.

Good. A soda tax is just masked fat phobia, and targeting of the poor.

Let people choose for themselves. If its good nutrition you are worried about close a few of the liquor stores in low rent areas and open some grocery stores.

Why doesn’t this headline have the word “bribe” in it? Haha
