Via cracks Japan's ride-share market and launches its 1st Israeli service

which serve individuals, Via acts more like an adjunct to public transportation which operates on fixed routes. A network of vans will transport groups of riders needing lifts to the same location. Like other ride-share services, rides are requested and paid for through a smartphone app. The idea is to fill in the gaps where public transportation isn’t easily accessible.

Last August, Via and Mori Building first partnered to create an on-demand shuttle system for Mori’s employees to travel between the urban developer’s various locations. The companies say that program’s success proved Via’s solution could work in the Japanese culture and traffic conditions. Mercedes-Benz shuttle vans in new ride-share service in Israel called"bubble" through global ride-share company Via Transportation.Meanwhile, Via launched its first service in Israel Monday in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Givatayim in partnership with public transit operator. Riders in those cities will use a new app called bubble to hail a lift in a shuttle from their smartphones. They’ll be directed to nearby bus stop for pick up and drop off.
