Edmonton Oilers' Dylan Holloway is congratulated for a goal against the Florida Panthers during the third period of Game 4 of the NHL hockey Stanley Cup Final, Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Edmonton, Alberta. The Florida Panthers for the first time in their history are set to play a home game with a chance to win the Stanley Cup.
The Panthers took a 3-0 series lead into Game 4 at Edmonton on Saturday night and got hammered, the Oilers staying alive with an 8-1 win. But they still have a long uphill battle against a Florida team that stifled Edmonton’s scoring through the first three games, thanks to a solid checking effort and the play of goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.
It was the first time Bobrovsky didn’t finish a game he started since he gave up five goals on 16 shots in the first two periods of a 6-4 loss at the Toronto Maple Leafs on April. 1. Panthers coach Paul Maurice said again the move was not based on his play but the team’s performance in front of him and the score, which was 5-1.
