Warranty service company American Home Protect will have to pay back wages and damages to an employee.

The unnamed employee was fired in June 2023 and suffered lost wages and retaliation for reporting the company’s “deceptive business practices” which they believed were illegal, according to aThe Sarbanes–Oxley Act requires companies to publicly report on management’s financial reporting. The Consumer Financial Protection Act established the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which protects consumers from unfair business practices.
