More than one-quarter of WA families eligible for cost-of-living relief from the state government are yet to claim the money, with the program set to close on Friday. The $103.5 million WA Student Assistance Payment was launched to help parents and carers with the financial pressure that comes with sending children to school.
Millions of dollars in WA student payments yet to be claimed. Parents can claim $150 for each student attending kindergarten and primary school, and $250 for every child they have in secondary education. Close to $70 million has been paid out to about 350,000 school students and their families since April. But about 29 per cent of eligible families are yet to apply for the cash and need to apply soon, or they will miss out.
