Symantec Chief Executive Greg Clark on May 9 said he is leaving the company, effective immediately. Clark became CEO in 2016 after Symantec bought the company he ran at the time, Blue Coat.
The company named Richard Hill as interim chief; he has been a director since January this year. It also said that Vincent Pilette is the new finance chief, replacing Nicholas Noviello, whose departure was announced in January. Symantec also reported fourth-quarter earnings on May 9 of $34 million. That equates to 5 cents a share under generally accepted accounting principles and 39 cents a share under non-GAAP. The mean estimate of sell-side analysts was for 39 cents a share, according to I/B/E/S from Refinitiv. Revenue of $1.19 billion was just shy of the mean estimate.
