The South African National Civic Organisation has given President Cyril Ramaphosa until the 24th of this month, just before Christmas to respond to their memorandum of demands.
One of them is illegal migrants which they claim are putting immense pressure on the country’s social systems while South Africa is grappling with its own challenges like high crime, unemployment and poverty. They started their action from Burgers Park to the Union Buildings where they echoed their frustrations. The high electricity costs was one of their agenda points.
“Our kids are under attack and the president must do something. Spaza shops must be returned to South Africans,” a resident said.
