Web programmer and author David Heinemeier Hansson tweeted that he received 20 times the credit line for Apple Card that his wife did:

for Apple Card through the Wallet app on an iPhone, and if approved they're quickly presented with an initial credit limit and APR offer, which are reportedly determined by an algorithm.

Goldman Sachs claimed that it doesn't use factors like gender in credit decisions but instead relies on a consumer's income, credit score, debt, and debt management, which it said can lead to family members receiving different credit decisions. It also noted that it's looking into allowing cardholders to share their Apple Card with other family members, which would help it match other cards that already offer the option.
