He is one of the four candidates who will be interviewed by the Judicial Service Commission next month to take over the reins from former Chief Justice, Mogoeng Mogoeng.Justice Mlambo is a veteran of the South African legal system.
His name is among the four candidates who were shortlisted by a panel chaired by Judge Navanethem Pillay after public nominations which were invited by President Cyril Ramaphosa. In November 2012, former President Jacob Zuma appointed Mlambo as Judge President of the Gauteng Division of the High Court.Despite the defense team’s objections, Mlambo ruled that the entire trial proceedings may be broadcast live via audio and that parts of the trial may be broadcast live via television.
The ruling was welcomed by members of the South African media, who described it as a groundbreaking decision supporting freedom of expression, freedom of the media, open justice and democracy.
Bull
He should just retire.. I mean this man is very old time for Pension funds bab 'Mlambo
Anyone who understands South African politics, Mlambo doesn't deserve to be our chief judge. The man is too aligned to a certain faction in ANC which might be a problem for us or his problem in future should his preferred faction loses elective conference
You are now promoting Judge Mlambo after noticing that your favorite Zondo messed up on sisulu🤣🤣🤣🤣 STOP FORCING PEOPLE TO LOVE WHAT YOU LOVE
Don't do that SABC. This things are for Enca
God save us not this factional judge
If not Zondo, yes our judicial will be in good hands in Dustan.
Better him then DCJ Zondo
So God help us all.
He's independent and call a spade a spade, he should be considered to save the constitution.
My question is,in the 4 contenders, how many of them still have 7 or more years as judges before retirement?
just say having sealed something he may be a strong candidate
He's not suitable for the position.
Absolutely, am an excellent contender
