I was fired for claiming sunglasses as a benefit during a merger. Do I have any recourse?

I was fired with cause, along with 20 other employees, for claiming sunglasses on our health benefit plan. This occurred at a time when the company was in the process of merging two operations into one. Consequently, they had to downsize.
