The price action of high-yield corporate bonds will signal to investors when the bear market triggered by the coronavirus pandemic is truly at its bottom, according to Longview Economics.

A bear market is a broad decline in a stock market, often defined as a price decline of 20% from a recent high. Sudden, sharp losses in stocks in early-to-mid-March took global stocks into bear market territory as the coronavirus pandemic spread worldwide and oil prices plummeted.

However, Longview economists believe this is too optimistic, in terms of the outlook for both earnings and GDP . They expect the "current pandemic induced supply side shock to evolve into a demand side shock" in a more traditional recession. In a note Monday, Longview argued that high-yield corporate bond spreads have signaled the end of every cyclical bear market since they started being recorded in 1997, often peaking before the equity bear market low.

Can stocks and bonds both be right? Making sense of rising equities and ultra-low Treasury yieldsBoth markets are responding, each in its own way, to the same accommodative Fed. Ultra low because no one can afford it The fed is manipulating the market. Final pump and dump before absolute destruction The yield curve is manipulated so entire discussion is useless. Stocks are up cuz markets realize this is a manufactured recession. They will go back down if economy doesnt recover quickly

Tesla Model 3 sales in China plunge 64% in April despite electric car market recoveryTesla sold 3,635 Model 3 cars in April — much lower than 10,160 in March, data from the China Passenger Car Association showed. Tesla has had a negative balance sheet since 2016. It clearly is a very overvalued company. Well gee, I wonder why?! Do you really think that people are particularly interested in buying new cars right off the bat? or paying off debt accrued after living in quarantine after some time. This will take some time to restabilize before things could come back to fully normal Lmaooooooooooooooooooooo Hey elonmusk see what happens when you piss off the deep state? Don’t bite the hand that feeds you dude.
