Germany’s DAX and France’s CAC 40 rose 0.33 per cent and 0.45 per cent, respectively. In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei finished up 0.93 per cent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.45 per cent. New York futures were modestly positive. The Canadian dollar was lower at 73.79 US cents.
