I do not think the ad is toxic. Who makes these rules? You are invariably saying “stick to the rules OR.... ewww! They just passed an important message.
An ad that tells humans to treat other humans better. Just so happens to focus on the male half. Let’s not try and overthink it.
It’s alienated the chauvinistic, sexist set of customers but I’m sure they expected that. Evidently Forbes is included in that group.

Gillette did the right thing, unfortunately this lesson about ending toxic masculinity & holding each other accountable had to come from a fucking razorblade company because our entire society is run by toxic masculinity. Apparently so is Forbes.

The men railing against this ad - commenting about 'stereotypes' and screaming NOT ALL MEN are toxic. The Gillette ad, however, is not.
Proctor and Gamble stock is up this morning because market movers think any publicity is good publicity, and since woman make many household purchasing decisions they assume this will have a positive affect. This is a product of cultural isolation.
It assumes males are bad people by default, and generalizing anyone, male or female, without knowing them or their character...is stupid. I am not a 'toxic male', my parents raised me right.
