A child has been injured after an allegedly stolen Mazda ploughed into a family car in Melbourne’s south-east. It’s alleged the 14-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle ran a red light before smashing into a family car and injuring a five-year-old boy, before fleeing the scene with two passengers.
Bailed teen crashes allegedly stolen car, injuring child. The teen allegedly stole a Mazda from a gym in Narre Warren just before 1am on Tuesday before attempting to steal petrol from two locations prior to the crash. It is alleged the teen had stolen an Audi from the same gym only days earlier, leading police on a six-hour chase through Melbourne’s south-east on Friday, before officers were forced to deploy road spikes.
